Regional leadership
Helped build a four-person APAC SE team at Kasisto, three-person teams in each of three Southeast Asian markets at Experian, and a five-person APAC SE team at Everbridge. Led regional enablement through Project Uplift.
Rex Joseph Piloton — an APAC sales engineering leader who has built teams, shaped enterprise deals, and worked hands-on with customer-facing AI. An application for Sales Engineering Manager, APJ at Sierra.
I bring the combination this moment calls for: regional team leadership, enterprise technical sales, and current practitioner experience in AI-powered customer experience.
Helped build a four-person APAC SE team at Kasisto, three-person teams in each of three Southeast Asian markets at Experian, and a five-person APAC SE team at Everbridge. Led regional enablement through Project Uplift.
Supported Everbridge's largest APAC CEM Suite deal and guided complex sales cycles across regulated and customer-facing environments.
Built customer-facing AI demonstrations and pilots across Ada, AI Rudder, and Kasisto, with attention to fit, evaluation, and reliable outcomes.
Across Ada, AI Rudder, Zendesk, and Kasisto, I have seen enterprise AI evaluations become much more useful when we stop treating a fluent conversation as the outcome. The question I bring to a customer is whether an agent can complete a real task, in the language and channel the customer actually uses, with a clear path when it cannot.
Start with a customer request that crosses knowledge, policy, and a real system. Define the successful resolution, the handoff, and who owns the outcome before building the showcase.
My English/Tagalog voice pilot reinforced how customers switch languages, accents, and context within a single conversation. Test those turns, interruptions, and recovery paths with regional speakers, not just scripted prompts.
A credible proof of value includes a small set of representative conversations, explicit evaluation criteria, and a review of failures. Track resolution, handoff quality, and gaps that need product or operational work before expanding the rollout.
For an APJ sales engineering team, this means teaching a repeatable way to earn conviction: understand the customer journey, test it in local conditions, and make a clear recommendation about readiness. That is the kind of technical sales culture I would help build at Sierra.

APJ is a region where an excellent product needs an equally excellent local technical sales motion. Enterprise buyers need to see that an AI agent can solve a real customer problem, work within their systems, and deliver outcomes they can trust. That is the work I want to lead as Sierra's Sales Engineering Manager, APJ.
I have helped build technical teams in three settings: from zero to four at Kasisto, from zero to three in each of Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand at Experian, and from one to five at Everbridge. I also led a regional uplift effort that contributed to an 8% increase in deal closure rate and supported Everbridge’s largest APAC CEM Suite deal. My full resume spans complex enterprise CX sales, voice and conversational AI, product launches, and hands-on software delivery. Most recently, as a founding APAC presales practitioner at Ada (ada.cx), I have worked directly with enterprises evaluating customer-facing AI. In one unnamed customer evaluation, I built a bilingual English/Tagalog voice proof of concept at Ada while competing head to head with Sierra. Sierra won. That experience gave me a practical view of what customers value in voice AI and strengthened my interest in the team that won their trust.
I would bring Sierra a player-coach mindset: develop exceptional SEs, establish repeatable discovery and demo standards, work shoulder to shoulder with sales and agent engineering, and earn customer trust by being clear about what a solution can deliver. My experience across Zendesk, AI Rudder, Kasisto, and Ada also gives me a practical view of customer experience, conversational and voice AI, and the region's varied languages, channels, and buying processes.
Several former Ada colleagues have since joined Sierra, including a previous manager. Those relationships make the opportunity especially personal, and Sierra’s emphasis on customer outcomes is compelling to me. I would help the APJ team earn trust through evaluations grounded in real journeys, local language behavior, and candid recommendations about readiness. I'd welcome the chance to discuss how I could help build a high-performing APJ sales engineering team and turn that promise into customer proof.
